Serving on our state’s highest court has been a privilege and a true honor for me. From major felony and death penalty cases to complex civil litigation involving families and businesses, I have the experience and knowledge to handle the critical issues that continue to face the Alabama Supreme Court.

My judicial service is influenced by a Conservative legal philosophy.

I believe our criminal justice system must serve and protect the victims who look to the courts to uphold the rule of law in an often lawless society.

I believe our civil justice system must be balanced and fair, while always recognizing the limits of judicial authority.

I ask for your vote again in 2012 and in return, I pledge to continue my commitment to strictly and faithfully interpret the law, not create it.

 

CONSERVATIVE EXPERIENCE

Justice Lyn Stuart is a conservative Republican who has over 22 years of judicial experience. Her belief in Law and Order has been shaped by her career as a Circuit Judge, District Judge, Assistant Attorney General, and as a former criminal prosecutor in the Baldwin County District Attorney’s office.

 

CONSERVATIVE LEADERSHIP

Justice Lyn Stuart is a conservative leader on the court and in her community. She served as a Faculty Advisor at the National Judicial College in Reno, Nevada. She is a past President of the Alabama Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges and a past President of the Blue Ridge Institute for Juvenile and Family Court Judges. She has been president of several civic organizations including, the Heritage Junior Women’s Club, the Bay Minette Kiwanis Club and the Jubilee Women’s Clubs.

 

CONSERVATIVE VALUES

Justice Lyn Stuart lives out her conservative values. She is a native of Atmore, Alabama. She earned degrees from Auburn University and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Alabama. She has been married to her husband, George, for 30 years. They have 3 children, a daughter in law and are expecting their first grandchild in 2012. The Stuarts are members of the First United Methodist Church of Bay Minette where Justice Stuart has served on the Administrative Board, the Board of Trustees and teaches a Sunday School class.
